The Korralai River flooded as 35,000 cubic feet of water was released from Boondi Lake every second. This caused flooding in residential areas along the river in the sand. Chief Minister MK Stalin visited and inspected the flood-affected areas as houses were flooded and people were suffering. At the time, he heard complaints from residents. He ordered the authorities to immediately drain the water surrounding the flats.

Following this, the Chief Minister went to the temporary camps. Stalin asked those staying there about the arrangements. He then provided them with food, including milk and bread, and essentials.
