சென்னையில் நேற்று இரவில் இருந்து இன்று காலை வரை பெய்த கனமழையால் தி.நகர் சாலைகள் வெள்ளத்தில் தத்தளிக்கிறது.
தி.நகர் ஜி.என்.செட்டி சாலை, திருமலை சாலை, டாக்டர் நார் சாலை, பிருந்தாவன் சாலை மழை தண்ணீர் தேங்கி இருப்பதால் கடும் போக்குவரத்து நெரிசல் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. கடந்த மழையின் போது பசுல்லா சாலையில் தண்ணீர் தேங்கி இருந்தது. இதனால் ராட்சத பம்ப் மூலம் தண்ணீரை அகற்றும் பணியில் மாநகராட்சி ஊழியர்க ஈடுபட்டனர். அந்த பணி இன்னும் தொடர்கிறது.
மேற்கு மாம்பலத்தில் இருந்து தி.நகர் நோக்கி செல்லும் துரைச்சாமி சுரங்கப் பாதையில் கடும் போக்குவரத்து நெரிசல் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது.
Roads in Chennai have been flooded due to heavy rains in Chennai from last night till this morning.
The Nagar GN Chetty Road, Thirumalai Road, Dr. Nor Road, Brindavan Road have been severely congested due to stagnant rain water. During the last rain, water was stagnant on Pasullah Road. Thus the employees of the corporation were engaged in the task of removing the water by means of a giant pump. That work is still ongoing.
Heavy traffic congestion has been reported on the Duraichamy tunnel from West Mambalam to The Nagar.
