பெரம்பலூர் அருகே தேசிய நெடுஞ்சாலையில் கார் கவிழ்ந்து விபத்துக்குள்ளானதில் சபரிமலை சென்று விட்டு திரும்பிய ஐயப்ப பக்தர்கள் இருவர் சம்பவ இடத்திலேயே உயிரிழந்த சம்பவம் சோகத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது.
செங்கல்பட்டு மாவட்டம் மேல்மருவத்தூர் அருகே உள்ள கொளம்பாக்கத்தை சேர்ந்த ஆனந்த் (27), சூரியா (30), கணேசன் (35), ரமேஸ்(49) மதுராந்தகம் அருகே உள்ள சரவம்பாக்கத்தை சேர்ந்த செவமணி (28), லெட்சுமணண் (30) ஆகிய 6 பேர் ஐய்யப்பனுக்கு மாலை அணிந்து சபரிமலைக்கு டவேரா காரில் சென்றுள்ளனர்.
நேற்று காலை சபரிமலையில் சாமி தரிசனம் செய்துவிட்டு திருச்சி வழியாக சொந்த ஊருக்கு திரும்பியுள்ளனர். காரை கணேசன் என்பவர் ஓட்டியுள்ளார். அவரே காரின் உரிமையாளர் என்றும் கூறப்படுகிறது.
