கரூர் மாணவி தற்கொலை: பாலியல் வன்முறையை வெளியில் சொல்லும் சூழலை ஏற்படுத்த வேண்டும்: கனிமொழி

“குழந்தைகள் தங்கள் மீது நிகழ்த்தப்படும் பாலியல் வன்முறையை எதிர்க்கவும் எந்த ஒரு அச்ச உணர்வுமின்றி அதுகுறித்த புகாரை வெளியே சொல்வதற்குமான பாதுகாப்பான சூழலை நாம் ஏற்படுத்தித் தர வேண்டும்” என்று கரூர் மாணவி தற்கொலை செய்துகொண்டதற்கு கனிமொழி எம்.பி கருத்து தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

கரூர் மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள ஒரு தனியார் பள்ளியில் 12ம் வகுப்பு பயின்றுவரும் 17 வயது பள்ளி மாணவி நேற்று மாலை பள்ளி முடித்து வீடு திரும்பியிருக்கிறார். தனது வீட்டில் பெற்றோர்கள் இல்லாத நேரத்தில் வீட்டிலிருந்த சேலையில் தூக்குப்போட்டு தற்கொலை செய்துகொண்டார். இந்த மாணவி இறப்பதற்கு முன்பு கடிதம் எழுதி வைத்துவிட்டு தற்கொலை செய்து கொண்டுள்ளார் எனக் கூறப்படுகிறது. அந்தக் கடிதத்தில் பாலியல் தொல்லையால் உயிரிழக்கும் கடைசிப்பெண் நானாகத்தான் இருக்கவேண்டும் என்று கண்ணீர் மல்க குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார். ஏற்கனவே, கோவை மாணவி தற்கொலை செய்துகொண்ட அதிர்ச்சியிலிருந்து மீள்வதற்குள் தற்போது பாலியல் தொல்லையால் கரூர் மாணவி தற்கொலை செய்திருப்பது பெரும் அதிர்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்தியிருக்கிறது. 

இந்த நிலையில் இதுகுறித்து திமுக எம்.பி கனிமொழி, தனது ட்விட்டர் பக்கத்தில், “பாலியல் தொல்லை காரணமாக கரூரைச் சேர்ந்த பள்ளி மாணவி தற்கொலை செய்துகொண்ட செய்தி, மிகுந்த சோகத்தை ஏற்படுத்துகிறது. குழந்தைகள் தங்கள் மீது நிகழ்த்தப்படும் பாலியல் வன்முறையை எதிர்க்கவும் எந்த ஒரு அச்ச உணர்வுமின்றி அதுகுறித்த புகாரை வெளியே சொல்வதற்குமான பாதுகாப்பான சூழலை நாம் ஏற்படுத்தித் தர வேண்டும். இந்த அவல நிலையை மாற்ற, இனியும் இம்மாதிரியான கொடும் சம்பவம் நிகழாமல் தடுக்க நாம் அனைவரும் உறுதி ஏற்கவேண்டும்” என்று பதிவு செய்துள்ளார்.

Commenting on the Karur student suicide, Kanimozhi MP said, "We need to create a safe environment for children to oppose sexual violence against themselves and to report it out of fear."

A 17-year-old 12th class student of a private school in Karur district has returned home after finishing school last evening. He committed suicide by hanging himself in a sari at home when his parents were not at home. The student is said to have committed suicide after writing the letter before he died.

In the letter, Kannir Malka mentioned that Nanaka should be the last woman to die due to sexual harassment. Already, it has come as a huge shock that the Karur student has committed suicide due to sexual harassment before recovering from the shock of committing suicide in Coimbatore.

In this context, DMK MP Kanimozhi said on his Twitter page, “The news of the suicide of a school student from Karur due to sexual harassment is very sad.

We need to create a safe environment for children to oppose sexual violence against themselves and to report it out of fear. We must all make a commitment to change this tragedy and prevent such a tragedy from happening again. "
