பயமும், பாரபட்சமுமற்ற முறையில் நீதி பரிபாலனையில் ஈடுபடுவேன் என சென்னை உயர் நீதிமன்ற தலைமை (பொறுப்பு) நீதிபதியாக பதவியேற்றுள்ள முனீஸ்வர நாத் பாண்டாரி தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்ற தலைமை நீதிபதி சஞ்ஜிப் பானர்ஜி, மேகாலயா உயர் நீதிமன்றத்துக்கு மாற்றப்பட்ட நிலையில், அலஹாபாத் உயர்நீதிமன்ற மூத்த நீதிபதியான முனீஸ்வர் நாத் பண்டாரி, சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்ற தலைமை நீதிபதியாக இடமாற்றம் செய்யப்பட்டார். அவருக்கு சென்னை கிண்டியில் உள்ள ஆளுநர் மாளிகையில் ஆளுநர் ஆர்.என்.ரவி பதவி பிராமாணம் செய்துவைத்தார். இந்த நிகழ்வில் சக நீதிபதிகள், தமிழக முதலமைச்சர் மு.க.ஸ்டாலின், தலைமை செயலாளர் வெ. இறையன்பு, எதிர்க்கட்சி தலைவர் எடப்பாடி பழனிசாமி, எதிர்கட்சி துணை தலைவர் ஓ.பன்னீர்செல்வம் உள்ளிட்டோர் கலந்துகொண்டனர்.

பதவி பிரமாணத்திற்கு பிறகு, உயர் நீதிமன்றம் வந்த நீதிபதி எம்.என்.பண்டாரி பொறுப்புத் தலைமை நீதிபதியாக பணிகளைத் தொடங்கினார். சென்னை உயர் நீதிமன்றத்தில் நடந்த வரவேற்பு விழாவில் தமிழக அரசு தலைமை வழக்கறிஞர் சண்முகசுந்தரம், தமிழ்நாடு மற்றும் புதுச்சேரி பார் கவுன்சில், வழக்கறிஞர் சங்கங்களின் நிர்வாகிகள் வரவேற்று பேசினர். ஏற்புரையாற்றிய பொறுப்புத் தலைமை நீதிபதி எம்.என்.பண்டாரி, நேற்றுமுதல் தமிழ் கற்க தொடங்கியுள்ளதாகவும், வணக்கம், நன்றி ஆகியவற்றை கற்றுக்கொண்டுள்ளேன் என்றும் மகிழ்ச்சி பொங்க தெரிவித்தார்.

தமிழகத்தில் பிறக்க வேண்டுமென நினைத்திருந்ததாகவும், இப்போது உயர் நீதிமன்றத்தில் பதவியேற்றதன் மூலம் தனது கனவு நினைவாகியுள்ளதாகவும் தெரிவித்துள்ளார். பதவியேற்பு உறுதிமொழி ஏற்றதுபோல், நீதி பரிபாலனத்தில் பயமோ பாரபட்சமோ இருக்காது என்றும், விழாவில் நிறைய பேச விரும்பவில்லை என்றும், ஆனால் தன் செயலில் காட்டுவேன் என்றும் கூறியதுடன், அனைவரின் ஒத்துழைப்பும் தேவை எனவும் தெரிவித்தார்.

பொறுப்பு தலைமை நீதிபதியாக உள்ள முனீஸ்வர நாத் பண்டாரியின் சொந்த மாநிலமான ராஜஸ்தானைச் சேர்ந்த நீதிபதி ரவீந்திர சிங் சவுகான், உத்தரகாண்ட் உயர் நீதிமன்ற தலைமை நீதிபதியாகவும், முகமது ரபீக் ஹிமாச்சல பிரதேச உயர் நீதிமன்ற தலைமை நீதிபதியாகவும் பதவி வகிக்கின்றனர். இவர்களில், ரவீந்திர சிங் சவுகான் டிசம்பர் 23ஆம் தேதி ஓய்வுபெற இருக்கிறார். அதன்பின்னர் அதே மாநிலத்தை சேர்ந்தவர் என்ற அடிப்படையில் சென்னை உயர் நீதிமன்ற பொறுப்புத் தலைமை நீதிபதி எம்.என்.பண்டாரியை, தலைமை நீதிபதியாக நியமிக்க வாய்ப்புள்ளதாக கூறப்படுகிறது. தற்போது சென்னை உயர் நீதிமன்ற நீதிபதிகளின் என்ணிக்கை 60ஆகவும் காலியிடங்கள் 15ஆகவும் உள்ளது.

Chennai High Court Chief (Responsible) Muneeswara Nath Bandari has said that he will be involved in the administration of justice without fear or discrimination.

Chennai High Court Chief Justice Sanjeeb Banerjee has been transferred to the Meghalaya High Court, while Allahabad High Court Senior Judge Muneeswar Nath Bandari has been transferred as the Chief Justice of the Chennai High Court.

He was administered the oath of office by Governor RN Ravi at the Governor's House in Chennai. Fellow judges, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin, Chief Secretary V. Opposition Leader Edappadi Palanisamy and Deputy Leader of the Opposition O. Panneerselvam were also present.

Following the swearing in, Judge MN Bandari, who came to the High Court, assumed duties as the Chief Justice in charge. At the reception held at the Chennai High Court, the Attorney General of Tamil Nadu Shanmugasundaram, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry Bar Council, executives of the Bar Associations gave a welcome address. Chief Justice MN Bandari, who officiated, said he was happy to say that he had started learning Tamil since yesterday and had learned to say hello and thank you.

He said that he wanted to be born in Tamil Nadu and now he has remembered his dream by becoming a member of the High Court. As stated in the Pledge of Allegiance, he said that there would be no fear or discrimination in the administration of justice and that he did not want to talk too much at the ceremony but would show his mettle and needed the cooperation of all.

Judge Ravindra Singh Chauhan of Muneeswara Nath Bandari's home state of Rajasthan is the Chief Justice in charge, while Uttarakhand High Court Chief Justice Mohammad Rafique is the Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court.

Of these, Ravindra Singh Chauhan is set to retire on December 23. Thereafter it is said that there is a possibility of appointing MN Bandari, the Chief Justice in charge of the Chennai High Court, as the Chief Justice on the basis that he belongs to the same state. At present the number of judges in the Chennai High Court is 60 and the number of vacancies is 15.
