”கால்வாயை தூர்வாரியதாக 20 ஆண்டுகளாக மோசடி” : மதுரை ஆட்சியரிடம் விவசாயிகள் புகார் மனு-"Fraud for 20 years for clearing the canal": Farmers complain to Madurai Collector

மதுரையில் எர்த்கொம்பர் ஆற்றின் நீர்வரத்து கால்வாயை தூர்வாரியதாக கூறி கடந்த 20 ஆண்டுகளாக மோசடி நடைபெற்று வருவதாகவும், இனியாவது கால்வாயை முறையாக தூர்வாரவேண்டுமென்று கூறியும் விவசாயிகள் பலர் ஆட்சியரிடம் நேரடியாக புகார் மனு அளித்துள்ளனர். கண்மாய் ஆக்கிரமிப்புகளால் 10க்கும் மேற்பட்ட கிராம விவசாயிகள் பாதிக்கப்படுவதாக வேதனையும் தெரிவிக்கிறார்கள்.

மதுரை மாவட்டம் சேடப்பட்டி ஒன்றியத்திற்கு உட்பட்ட எர்த்கொம்பர் ஆற்றின் நீர்வரத்து கால்வாயை பொதுப்பணித்துறையினர் கடந்த 20 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு மேலாக பராமரிப்பு செய்யப்படாததாக சொல்லப்படுகிறது. இதனால் அதனை நம்பியுள்ள வண்டப்புலி மற்றும் விட்டல்பட்டி, குடிப்பட்டி, சில்வார்பட்டி உள்ளிட்ட ஏராளமான கிராமங்களை சேர்ந்து விவசாயிகளுக்கு தேவையான நீர் இல்லாமல் விவசாயம் பாதிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

இது தொடர்பாக பலமுறை பொதுப்பணித்துறைக்கு புகார் அளித்தும் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படாமல் இருந்ததாக சொல்கின்றனர் விவசாயிகள். இவற்றுடன் வண்டப்புலி பஞ்சாயத்தில் உள்ள கண்மாய்க்கு வரும் நீர்வரத்தை குடிச்சேரி கண்மாயிக்கு பாத்தியப்பட்ட கிராமத்தை சேர்ந்தவர்கள் சட்டவிரோதமாக தடுத்து நிறுத்துவதாகவும் பல முறை புகார் அளித்ததாக கூறுகின்றார்கள் அவர்கள். ஆனாலும் பொதுப்பணித்துறை கண்டுகொள்ளவில்லை என சொல்லப்படுகிறது. இதுதொடர்பாக கோட்டாச்சியர் உத்தரவு அளித்தும் கூட பொதுப்பணித்துறை அதிகாரிகள் அலட்சியம் காட்டுவதாகவும், 20ஆண்டுகள் பராமரிப்பு இல்லாத நீர்நிலைகளை தூர்வாரியதாக மோசடி செய்துள்ளதாகவும் மக்கள் கூறுகின்றனர்.

பொதுப்பணித்துறையின் அலட்சியத்தால் வண்டப்புலி உள்ளிட்ட 10க்கும் மேற்பட்ட கிராமங்களை சேர்ந்த விவசாயிகள் தொடர்ந்து பாதிக்கப்படுவதாக கூறி, எர்த்கொம்பர் ஆற்றின் நீர் வரத்து வாய்க்கால்களை உடனடியாக தூர்வார வேண்டுமென விவசாயிகள் இன்று மதுரை மாவட்ட ஆட்சியரிடம் புகார் மனு அளித்தனர். தூர்வாரப்படாத நீர்நிலைகளை தூர்வாரியதாக கூறி மோசடியில் ஈடுபட்ட அதிகாரிகள்மீதும் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படவேண்டுமென அவர்கள் கோரியுள்ளனர்.

Many farmers in Madurai have lodged a complaint directly with the Collector alleging that fraud has been going on for the last 20 years, claiming that the Erthcomber River drainage canal has been disturbed. More than 10 villagers have been affected by the Kanmai occupation.

It is said that the public works department has not maintained the Erthcomber river drainage canal under the Chetapatti union in Madurai district for more than 20 years. As a result, agriculture has been affected due to lack of water for the farmers along with many villages including Vandapuli and Vittalpatti, Kudipatti and Silvarpatti which depend on it.

Farmers say they have repeatedly complained to the public sector about this but no action has been taken. Along with these, the villagers of Kuticherry Kanmai have repeatedly complained that the water supply to Kanmai in Vandapuli panchayat is being stopped illegally.

They. Yet the public sector is said to be unaware. People say that even though Kottachiyar has issued an order in this regard, the public works authorities have been negligent and have been committing fraud for 20 years without maintenance.

Farmers in more than 10 villages, including Vandapuli, continue to suffer due to the negligence of the Public Works Department, and the farmers today lodged a complaint with the Madurai District Collector demanding immediate diversion of the Erthcomber River water supply canals. They also demanded that action be taken against the officials involved in the scam, claiming that the water bodies were untouched.
