ராணிப்பேட்டை மாவட்டம், சோளிங்கர் ஊராட்சி ஒன்றியத்திற்கு உட்பட்ட புலிவலம் கிராம பஞ்சாயத்து தலைவர் பதவி ஆதிதிராவிடருக்கு ஒதுக்கப்பட்டு, வரும் 9 ம் தேதி தேர்தல் நடைபெற உள்ளது. இந்நிலையில், கிறிஸ்தவராக மதம் மாறிய ஒருவர் பட்டியலினத்தவருக்கு ஒதுக்கப்பட்ட பதவிக்கு, இந்து ஆதி திராவிடர் என போலியாக சான்றிதழ் பெற்று போட்டியிடுவதாக கூறி, அமெரிக்காவில் வசித்து வரும் புலிவலம் கிராமத்தை சேர்ந்த பாதிரியார் சத்தியசீலன் என்பவர் வழக்கு தொடர்ந்துள்ளார். அவர் தனது மனுவில், புலிவலத்தில் உள்ள தன்னுடைய வீட்டு முகவரியை பயன்படுத்தி ஊருக்கு சம்மந்தமே இல்லாத பிரேம்நாத் என்பவர் ஊராட்சி தலைவர் பதவிக்கு போட்டியிடுவதாகக் கூறியுள்ளார். சோளிங்கரில் இனிப்பு கடை நடத்தும் சென்னையை சேர்ந்த பிரேம்நாத், தன் வீட்டு முகவரியை பயன்படுத்தி வேட்புமனு தாக்கல் செய்துள்ளதாகவும்,அவர் கிறிஸ்தவராக மதம் மாறி தற்போது தென்னிந்திய திருச்சபையில் உறுப்பினராக உள்ள நிலையில், இந்து ஆதிதிராவிடர் என சட்டத்திற்கு புறம்பாக சாதி சான்றிதழ் பெற்று போட்டியிடுவதால்,அவரது வேட்புமனுவை நிராகரித்து உத்தரவிட வேண்டுமென கோரியுள்ளார்.

இந்த மனு நீதிபதிகள் சிவஞானம், சத்திகுமார் அமர்வில் விசாரணைக்கு வந்த போது, ஏற்கனவே வேட்புமனு தாக்கல் முடிவடைந்து வரும் 9ம் தேதி தேர்தல் நடைபெற உள்ளதாக அரசுத்தரப்பில் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டது. தேர்தல் நடைமுறை துவங்கிய பின் அதில் தலையிட முடியாது என தெரிவித்த நீதிபதிகள், தேர்தல் முடிந்த பின் மனுதாரர் உரிய அமைப்பை அணுகலாம் எனக் கூறி, வழக்கை முடித்து வைத்தனர்

The Chennai High Court has ordered the closure of a case filed against a convert who converted to Christianity and obtained caste certificate as a Hindu Adi Dravidar and is contesting for the post of panchayat chief.

The post of Pulivalam Grama Panchayat Chairman of Ranipettai District, Cholingar Panchayat Union has been allotted to Adithravidar and the election is scheduled to be held on the 9th. In this case, Satyaseelan, a priest from the village of Pulivalam, who lives in the United States, is suing, claiming that a person who has converted to Christianity is contesting for the post assigned to him by obtaining a fake certificate as a Hindu Adi Dravidar. In his petition, he used his home address in Pulivalam to claim that Prem Nath, who was not affiliated with the town, was contesting for the post of panchayat chief.

Premnath, a Chennai native who runs a sweet shop in Cholingar, has filed his nomination using his home address and has sought to have his candidature rejected as he has converted to Christianity and is now a member of the South Indian Church.

When the petition came up for hearing in the session of Judges Sivagyanam and Sattikumar, the government informed that the election will be held on the 9th, which is already the end of the nomination process. The judges ruled that they could not interfere in the election process once it began, and closed the case, saying that the petitioner could approach the appropriate body after the election.
