காவிரி ஆணையம் உத்தரவிட்டும் தமிழகத்திற்கு வழங்கவேண்டிய தண்ணீரில் 31 டிஎம்சி நீரை திறக்காமல் கர்நாடகா மாநில அரசு செயல்பட்டு வருவதாக புகார் எழுந்துள்ளது.
கர்நாடகா அணைகளில் இருந்து காவிரி ஆற்றில் ஜூன், ஜூலை, செப்டம்பர் ஆகிய மூன்று மாதங்களில் தமிழகத்துக்கு சுமார் 102 டிஎம்சி தண்ணீரை கர்நாடகா அரசு வழங்க வேண்டும். ஆனால், தற்போது வரை 31 புள்ளி 6 டிஎம்சி தண்ணீர் வழங்காமல் நிலுவையில் உள்ளது. அண்மையில் டெல்லியில் நடந்த காவிர் மேலாண்மை ஆணைய கூட்டத்தில், தமிழகத்துக்கான தண்ணீரை திறக்க ஆணையம் உத்தரவிட்டும் கர்நாடகா அரசு மெத்தனமாக உள்ளதாக விவசாயிகள் குற்றம்சாட்டுகின்றனர். கர்நாடாக அணைகளில் 95 சதவிகிதத்திற்கும் மேல் தண்ணீர் உள்ளபோதும், உபரி நீரை மட்டுமே காவிரி ஆற்றில் திறந்துவிடுவதாகவும் கூறப்படுகிறது. இதனால் தமிழகத்திற்கான தண்ணீரை கர்நாடகா உடனே காவிரி ஆற்றில் திறந்துவிடக் கோரிக்கை எழுந்துள்ளது.

There is a complaint that the state government of Karnataka is operating without opening 31 TMC of water to be supplied to Tamil Nadu as ordered by the Cauvery Commission.
The Karnataka government is expected to supply about 102 TMC of water from the Karnataka dams to the Cauvery River to Tamil Nadu in the three months of June, July and September. But, so far 31 point 6 TMC water is outstanding. At a recent meeting of the Cauvery Management Commission in Delhi, farmers accused the Karnataka government of being lax in ordering the commission to open water to Tamil Nadu. While more than 95 per cent of Karnataka's dams hold water, only surplus water is said to be released into the Cauvery River. As a result, there is a demand for Karnataka to immediately release water to Tamil Nadu from the Cauvery River.
