தீப்பெட்டி தொழிலாளர்களுக்கு தீபாவளி பண்டிகையை ஒட்டி 15 சதவீத போனஸ் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. தீபாவளிக்கு பிறகு தொழிலாளர்களுக்கு ஊதிய உயர்வு தரப்படும் என்றும் தீப்பெட்டி உற்பத்தியாளர்கள் அறிவித்துள்ளனர்.
தூத்துக்குடி மாவட்டம் கோவில்பட்டியில் நடந்த ஆலோசனை கூட்டத்திற்கு பின்னர் உற்பத்தியாளர்கள் இந்த அறிவிப்பை வெளியிட்டனர். மூலப்பொருள்களின் விலை உயர்வு உள்ளிட்ட காரணங்களால் தீப்பெட்டியின் விலையை 2 ரூபாய் ஆக உயர்த்துவது குறித்தும் இக்கூட்டத்தில் விவாதிக்கப்பட்டதாக உற்பத்தியாளர்கள் தெரிவித்தனர். தீப்பெட்டி உற்பத்தியாளர்கள் பெற்றுள்ள வங்கி கடனுக்கான வட்டியை தள்ளுபடி செய்ய மத்திய, மாநில அரசுகள் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும், குளோரைட், சல்பர் ஆகியவற்றை கொண்டு செல்வதற்கு மாவட்ட ஆட்சியரிடம் சான்று பெறும் முறை நீக்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்பது உள்ளிட்ட தீர்மானங்களும் இக்கூட்டத்தில் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டது.

A 15 per cent bonus has been announced for match workers on the eve of Diwali. Matchmakers have also announced a pay rise for workers after Diwali.
The manufacturers made the announcement after a consultative meeting in Kovilpatti, Thoothukudi district. The manufacturers said the meeting also discussed raising the price of matches to Rs 2 per liter due to factors including rising prices of raw materials.
The meeting also passed resolutions calling on the federal and state governments to take action to waive interest on bank loans obtained by matchmakers and to remove the certification system from the district collector for carrying chloride and sulfur.
