கூடங்குளம் அணுக்கழிவுகளை சேமித்து வைக்க வழங்கிய அனுமதியை திரும்பப் பெறுக-Withdraw permission for storage

கூடங்குளம் அணுமின் நிலையத்திலேயே அணுக்கழிவுகளை சேமித்து வைக்க வழங்கிய அனுமதியை மத்திய அரசு திரும்பப் பெற வேண்டும் என்று டி.ஆர்.பாலு, பிரதமருக்கு கடிதம் எழுதியுள்ளார்.

 

திருநெல்வேலி மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள கூடங்குளம் அணுமின் நிலைய வளாகத்தில் 1,000 மெகாவாட் உற்பத்தித் திறனுள்ள 2 அணு உலைகள் இயங்கி வருகின்றன. மேலும் 4 அணு உலைகளை அமைக்கும் பணியை தேசிய அணுமின் சக்தி கழகம் மேற்கொண்டு வருகிறது. இந்த நிலையில், இந்த அணு உலைகளில் இருந்து உற்பத்தியாகும் கழிவுகளை அணுமின் நிலைய வளாகத்திற்கு உள்ளேயே சேமித்து வைப்பதற்கான இடத்தை தேர்வு செய்வதற்கான அனுமதியை இந்திய அணுசக்தி ஒழுங்கு முறை ஆணையம் அளித்திருக்கிறது. இதற்கு பல்வேறு அரசியல் தலைவர்கள் கண்டனம் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.

 

இந்த நிலையில், கூடங்குளம் அணுமின் நிலையத்திலேயே அணுக்கழிவுகளை சேமித்து வைக்க வழங்கிய அனுமதியை மத்திய அரசு திரும்பப் பெற வேண்டும் என்று ஸ்ரீபெரும்புதூர் தொகுதி எம்பி டி.ஆர்.பாலு, பிரதமர் மோடிக்கு கடிதம் எழுதியுள்ளார். இந்தியா - ரஷ்யா ஒப்பந்தப்படி கூடங்குளம் அணுக்கழிவுகளை ரஷ்யாவுக்கே திருப்பி அனுப்ப வேண்டும் என்றும் அவர் வலியுறுத்தியுள்ளார்.

DR Palu has written a letter to the Prime Minister asking him to withdraw the permission given by the Central Government to store the waste at the Kudankulam nuclear power plant.

 

Two nuclear reactors with a capacity of 1,000 MW are operating at the Kudankulam nuclear power plant complex in Tirunelveli district. The National Atomic Energy Corporation is in the process of setting up 4 more nuclear reactors. In this case, the Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority of India (AERA) has given permission to select a site for storage of waste generated from these reactors inside the nuclear power plant premises. This has been condemned by various political leaders.

 

In this context, Sriperumbudur constituency MP DR Palu has written a letter to Prime Minister Modi asking him to withdraw the permission given by the central government to store nuclear waste at the Kudankulam nuclear power plant. He also stressed that the Kudankulam access should be returned to Russia as per the India-Russia agreement.
