வார விடுமுறை நாளான இன்று கொடைக்கானலில் குவிந்த சுற்றுலா பயணிகள். தவழும் மேகக் கூட்டங்களுடன் சுற்றுலா தலங்களை கண்டு ரசித்தனர்.

மலைகளின் இளவரசியான கொடைக்கானலில் வாரவிடுமுறை நாளான இன்று சுற்றுலா பயணிகள் அதிக அளவில் குவிந்துள்ளனர். கடந்த வாரம் 12 மைல் சுற்றுச்சாலையில் அமைந்துள்ள மோயர் சதுக்கம், பைன் மரக்காடுகள், குணாகுகை மற்றும் தூண் பாறை உள்ளிட்ட சுற்றுலா தலங்களுக்குள் யானைகள் நடமாட்டம் இருந்ததால் அவை அடைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தன.

இந்நிலையில், இந்த வாரம் 12 மைல் சுற்றுலா தலங்கள் திறக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதால் பயணிகள் மேகங்கள் தவழும் அப்பகுதிகளை கண்டு ரசித்து வருகின்றனர். தொடர் விடுமுறை நாட்களில் எண்ணற்ற வாகனங்கள் குவிவதால் போக்குவரத்து நெரிசலும் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. விடுமுறை நாட்களின் வாகன நெரிசலை குறைக்க கோவில்பட்டி, வெங்கலவயல், பாரதி அண்ணாநகர் பேத்துப்பாறை வழியாக மாற்றுப்பாதையை விரைந்து அமைக்க வேண்டும் என்ற கோரிக்கை வலுத்து வருகிறது.

Kodaikanal, the princess of the hills, is crowded with tourists today, the weekend. Last week, the 12 - mile roundabout was closed due to elephant poaching in tourist sites, including Moir Square, pine forests, creeks and pillars.
