மதுரை மாவட்டம் மேலூர் அருகே கீழவளவு காவல் நிலையம் அருகே தேவர் ஜெயந்தி பாதுகாப்பு பணியில் ஈடுபட்டிருந்த பெண் காவலர் வீரம்மாள் என்பவர், மதுரை - திருப்பத்தூர் சாலையில் கீழே கிடந்த 50 ஆயிரம் ரொக்கப்பணத்தை கண்டெடுத்து நேர்மையுடன் கீழவளவு காவல்நிலையத்தில் ஒப்படைத்தார்.
சிறிதுநேரத்தில் பணம் மாயமானதாக புகாரளிக்க வந்த கருப்பையா என்பவரிடம் விசாரணை நடத்தி உறுதிபடுத்திய பின்னர் அவரிடம் பணத்தை போலீசார் ஒப்படைத்தனர். மாவட்ட காவல் கண்காணிப்பாளர் பாஸ்கரன் பெண் காவலர் வீரம்மாளின் நேர்மையை பாராட்டி வாழ்த்து தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
