ஜூலை 18-ஆம் நாளினை தமிழ்நாடு நாளாக கொண்டாட விரைவில் அரசாணை வெளியிடப்படும் என்று முதலமைச்சர் மு.க.ஸ்டாலின் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
இதுதொடர்பாக அறிக்கை ஒன்றினை வெளியிட்டிருக்கும் அவர், நவம்பர் ஒன்றாம் நாள் எல்லைப் போராட்டத்தினை நினைவுகூரும் நாளாகத்தான் அமையுமே தவிர தமிழ்நாடு நாளாக கொண்டாடுவது பொருத்தமாக இருக்காது என்று பல்வேறு தரப்பினரும் கூறி வருவதை சுட்டிக்காட்டியுள்ளார். பேரறிஞர் அண்ணாவால் 1967ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூலை 18ஆம் நாள் சட்டமன்றத்தில் தீர்மானம் நிறைவேற்றி தமிழ்நாடு எனப் பெயரிடப்பட்ட அந்த நாள் தான் தமிழ்நாடு நாள் எனக் கொண்டாடப்பட வேண்டும் என்று தொடர்ந்து வலியுறுத்தப்பட்டு வருவதை முதலமைச்சர் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.
ஆகவே, பல்வேறு அமைப்புகளின் கோரிக்கைகளை கவனமாக பரிசீலித்து தாய்த் தமிழ்நாட்டிற்கு தமிழ்நாடு எனப் பெயர் சூட்டிய ஜூலை 18ஆம் நாளை தமிழ்நாடு நாளாக கொண்டாட விரைவில் அரசாணை வெளியிடப்படும் என்று மு.க.ஸ்டாலின் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
Chief Minister MK Stalin has said that the government will soon release a notice to celebrate July 18 as Tamil Nadu Day.
He has issued a statement in this regard, pointing out that various parties have been saying that November 1 should not be celebrated as Tamil Nadu Day except as a day to commemorate the border struggle. The Chief Minister has stated that the day passed by the resolution passed by the Assembly on July 18, 1967 by Grandson Anna and named as Tamil Nadu should be celebrated as Tamil Nadu Day.
Therefore, after careful consideration of the demands of various organizations, MK Stalin said that the government will soon issue an order to celebrate July 18 as Tamil Nadu Day, the name given to Mother Tamil Nadu as Tamil Nadu.
