தமிழ்நாட்டிலிருந்து அண்டை மாநிலங்களுக்கு கனிம வளங்களை கடத்துவதைத் தடுக்க தனிச் சட்டம் இல்லை என்று கனிமம் மற்றும் நீர்வளத்துறை அமைச்சர் துரைமுருகன் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
கிருஷ்ணகிரி மாவட்டத்தில் சுற்றுப்பயணம் மேற்கொண்ட அமைச்சர், பர்கூர் அருகே டாமின் நிறுவனம் சார்பில் நடத்தப்படும் கிரானைட் கற்கள் மெருகூட்டும் தொழிற்சாலையில் ஆய்வு நடத்தினார். பின்னர் ஆட்சியர் அலுவலகத்தில் நடைபெற்ற மாநில அளவிலான கனிமம் மற்றும் சுரங்கத் துறை அதிகாரிகள் ஆய்வுக் கூட்டத்தில் பங்கேற்றார்.
பின்னர் செய்தியாளர்களிடம் பேசிய துரைமுருகன், கிருஷ்ணகிரி மாவட்டத்தில் சுற்றுச்சூழல் அனுமதி கிடைக்காமல் மூடப்பட்டுள்ள கிரானைட் குவாரிகள் விரைவில் செயல்பட நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்பட உள்ளதாகக் கூறினார்.
Minister of Minerals and Water Resources Duraimurugan has said that there is no separate law to prevent the smuggling of mineral resources from Tamil Nadu to neighboring states.
The Minister toured the Krishnagiri district and inspected the granite polishing factory run on behalf of Domin Company near Bargur. He then attended a statewide review meeting of mineral and mining officials at the Collector's Office.
Duraimurugan later told reporters that the granite quarries in Krishnagiri district, which had been closed due to lack of environmental clearance, would be reopened soon.
