கள்ளக்குறிச்சி மாவட்டத்தில் 40 ஊராட்சி ஒன்றிய வார்டு உறுப்பினருக்கான இடங்களும், 8 மாவட்ட ஊராட்சி வார்டு உறுப்பினர் இடங்களும் உள்ளன. வேட்புமனுத் தாக்கல் கடைசி நாள் வரை கள்ளக்குறிச்சி மாவட்டத்தில் அதிமுக - பாரதிய ஜனதா இடையே பேச்சுவார்த்தையில் உடன்பாடு எட்டப்படாததால், அக்கட்சியினர் தனித்தனியே வேட்பு மனுக்கள் தாக்கல் செய்ததாக கூறப்படுகிறது.
இந்நிலையில், வேட்பு மனுவை திரும்பப்பெற கெடு முடிந்த நிலையில், இரு தரப்பிலும் யாரும் வேட்பு மனுக்களை திரும்பப் பெறவில்லை. இதனால், கள்ளக்குறிச்சியில் பாரதிய ஜனதா தனித்து போட்டியிடுவது உறுதியாகியுள்ளது.

The BJP is all set to contest the local body elections in Kallakurichi district.
Kallakurichi district has 40 panchayat union ward seats and 8 district panchayat ward seats. It is said that the AIADMK and BJP have filed separate nominations in Kallakurichi district as no agreement was reached in the talks till the last day for filing nominations.
In this case, the deadline for withdrawal of nominations has passed and neither party has withdrawn its nominations. Thus, it has been decided that the BJP will contest alone in Kallakurichi.
