வீடுகளை இடித்து சேதப்படுத்திய காட்டு யானை-Wild elephant that demolished and damaged houses

நள்ளிரவில் பழங்குடியின கிராமத்திற்குள் புகுந்த விநாயகன் காட்டு யானை, 2 வீடுகளை இடித்து சேதப்படுத்தியது.

கோவையில் இருந்து கடந்த இரண்டு வருடங்களுக்கு முன்பு பிடித்து வந்து முதுமலை வனப்பகுதியில் விடப்பட்ட காட்டு யானை விநாயகன் தொடர்ச்சியாக ஊருக்குள் புகுந்து வீடுகளை சேதப்படுத்துவதை வாடிக்கையாக கொண்டுள்ளது. இந்த யானையால் இதுவரை 30-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட வீடுகள் சேதமடைந்து இருக்கிறது.

இந்நிலையில் நேற்று நள்ளிரவு முதுமலை வனப்பகுதியை ஒட்டியுள்ள மேலம்பலம் பழங்குடியினர் கிராமத்திற்குள் புகுந்த காட்டு யானை விநாயகன் கையம்பன் என்பவரது வீட்டை இடித்து சேதப்படுத்தியது. அந்நேரம் வீட்டிற்குள் இருந்து குழந்தைகள் உட்பட 5 பேர் தப்பி ஓடி அதிர்ஷ்டவசமாக உயிர் தப்பியுள்ளனர்.

தொடர்ச்சியாக வீடுகளை சேதப்படுத்தி வரும் காட்டு யானை விநாயகனை அடர்ந்த வனப்பகுதிக்குள் விரட்டக் கோரி அப்பகுதி மக்கள் ஏற்கனவே போராட்டங்களில் ஈடுபட்டனர். எனினும் வனத்துறையினர் யானையை அடர்ந்த வனப்பகுதிக்குள் விரட்டுவதற்கு மேற்கொண்ட முயற்சிகள் எதுவும் பலனளிக்கவில்லை. விநாயகன் யானை ஊருக்குள் நுழையாமல் தடுக்க வன எல்லையில் கும்கி யானைகள் பாதுகாப்பிற்காக நிறுத்தி வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

The wild elephant Ganesha, which was captured from Coimbatore two years ago and left in the Mudumalai forest, has a habit of constantly entering the city and damaging houses. So far more than 30 houses have been damaged by this elephant.

In this situation, the house of the wild elephant Vinayagan Kayamban who had entered the Melambalam tribal village adjacent to the Mudumalai forest was demolished and damaged at midnight yesterday. Five people, including children, escaped from the house at that time and fortunately survived.

The people of the area are already engaged in protests demanding the expulsion of the wild elephant Ganesha into the dense forest, which is constantly damaging houses.
