தென்மேற்குப் பருவக்காற்றின் காரணமாக, நாளை கன்னியாகுமரி உள்ளிட்ட கடலோர மாவட்டங்களிலும் அதையொட்டிய உள் மாவட்டங்களில் ஓரிரு இடங்களில் இடி மின்னலுடன் மிதமான மழை பெய்யக்கூடும் என்று ஆய்வு மையம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது. நாளை மறுதினம் வளிமண்டல மேலடுக்கு சுழற்சி மற்றும் வெப்பச்சலனம் காரணமாக, கடலோர மாவட்டங்கள், அதையொட்டிய உள் மாவட்டங்களில் கனமழையும், மேற்குத் தொடர்ச்சி மலையை ஒட்டிய மாவட்டங்களில் மிதமான மழையும் பெய்யக்கூடும் என்று தெரிவித்துள்ளது. சென்னையைப் பொறுத்தவரை, வானம் ஓரளவு மேகமூட்டத்துடன் காணப்படும் என்றும், நகரின் ஒரு சில பகுதிகளில் இடி மின்னலுடன் லேசான மழை பெய்யக்கூடும் என்றும் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளது.

கடந்த 24 மணி நேரத்தில் அதிகபட்சமாக கோவை மாவட்டம் சின்னக்கல்லாரில் 13 சென்டிமீட்டர் மழை பெய்துள்ளது. இதனிடையே, வடமேற்கு வங்கக்கடல் பகுதியில் இன்று காலை குறைந்த காற்றழுத்தத் தாழ்வுப்பகுதி உருவாகியுள்ளதாக வானிலை ஆய்வு மையம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது. இது, அடுத்த 24 மணி நேரத்தில் ஆழ்ந்த காற்றழுத்தத் தாழ்வுப் பகுதியாக வலுப்பெறக்கூடும் என்றும் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளது.

தென்கிழக்கு வங்கக் கடல் மற்றும் அதையொட்டிய தெற்கு அந்தமான் கடல் பகுதிகள், கேரளா, லட்சத்தீவு மற்றும் தென்கிழக்கு அரபிக்கடல் பகுதிகளில் மணிக்கு 50 கிலோ மீட்டர் வேகத்தில் சூறைக் காற்று வீசக்கூடும் என்பதால், அப்பகுதிகளுக்கு மீனவர்கள் செல்ல வேண்டாம் என்று அறிவுறுத்தியுள்ளது.

According to the Chennai Meteorological Department, a low pressure area has formed in the north-western Bay of Bengal and is likely to intensify into a deep depression in the next 24 hours.

The Center said that due to the southwest monsoon, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in one or two places in the coastal districts including Kanyakumari and adjoining inner districts tomorrow. The coastal districts, along with the inner districts, are likely to receive heavy rains and moderate rains in the districts adjoining the Western Ghats due to atmospheric circulation and convection the next day. For Chennai, the sky will be partly cloudy with a chance of light rain with thunder and lightning in some parts of the city.

Coimbatore district received maximum rainfall of 13 cm in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department said that a low pressure area has formed in the northwestern Bay of Bengal this morning. It is expected to intensify over the next 24 hours as part of a deep depression.

Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the southeastern Bay of Bengal and the adjoining southern Andaman Sea, Kerala, Lakshadweep and parts of the southeastern Arabian Sea as strong winds of up to 50 kmph are expected.
