மேட்டூர் அணையிலிருந்து 20,000கன அடி உபரி நீர் திறப்பு

மேட்டூர் அணை முழு கொள்ளளவை எட்டவுள்ள நிலையில் பாதுகாப்பு கருதி அணையிலிருந்து 20ஆயிரம் கன அடி உபரி நீர் காவிரியாற்றில் திறக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

காவிரி நீர்பிடிப்புப் பகுதிகளில் பெய்துவரும் மழையால், மேட்டூர் அணைக்கான நீர்வரத்து 26ஆயிரம் கன அடியாக அதிகரித்துள்ளது. இதனால் 120அடி கொண்ட அணையின் நீர்மட்டம் 119அடியை எட்டியுள்ளது. அணையின் பாதுகாப்பு கருதி, 20ஆயிரம் கன அடி உபரி நீர் திறக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதையடுத்து கரையோரத்தில் வசிக்கும் மக்களுக்கு வெள்ள அபாய எச்சரிக்கை விடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. சுரங்கம் மற்றும் அணையின் மின் நிலையங்கள் வாயிலாக தண்ணீர் வெளியேற்றப்படுவதன் மூலம், 200மெகா வாட் மின் உற்பத்தி செய்யப்படுகிறது.

மேலும் ஏழு கதவணைகளில் தலா 30 மெகாவாட் வீதம் 210மெகாவாட் மின் உற்பத்தி செய்யப்படுகிறது. மொத்தமாக 410 மெகா வாட் மின் உற்பத்தி செய்யப்படுகிறது. அணை முழு கொள்ளளவை எட்டினால், 16கண் மதகுகள் வழியாக உபரிநீர் வெளியேற்றப்படும். தொடர்மழை காரணமாக, கடந்த 40 நாட்களில் அணையின் நீர்மட்டம் 47அடி வரை உயர்ந்துள்ளது.

As the Mettur Dam reaches full capacity, 20,000 cubic feet of surplus water has been released into the Cauvery River for safety reasons.

Due to heavy rains in the Cauvery catchment area, the discharge of the Mettur Dam has increased to 26,000 cubic feet. Thus the water level of the dam which is 120 feet has reached 119 feet. Considering the safety of the dam, 20 thousand cubic feet of surplus water has been opened.

Coastal residents have been warned of the danger of floods. 200 MW of electricity is generated by discharging water through the power plants of the mine and the dam.

In addition, 210 MW of electricity is generated at a rate of 30 MW per seven gates. A total of 410 MW of electricity is generated. When the dam reaches full capacity, the overflow will be discharged through 16 eye canals. Due to continuous rains, the water level of the dam has risen to 47 feet in the last 40 days.
