பேனர் வைப்பதை முழுமையாக தடுக்கும் வகையில் விதிகளை வகுக்க தமிழக அரசுக்கு சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்றம் உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளது.

அமைச்சர் பொன்முடியை வரவேற்று கொடிக்கம்பம், பேனர்களை வைத்தபோது மின்சாரம் தாக்கி சிறுவன் உயிரிழந்த சம்பவம் பரபரப்பை ஏற்படுத்தியது. இது தொடர்பாக உரிய இழப்பீடு வழங்க கோரி சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தில் வழக்கு தொடரப்பட்டது. இந்த வழக்கு விசாரணைக்கு வந்தபோது, இழப்பீடு தொடரப்பட்ட வழக்கில் தமிழக அரசு, திமுக பதிலளிக்க வேண்டும் என சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்றம் உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளது. வழக்கு விசாரணையின்போது, தமிழக அரசு தரப்பில், 'பேனர்கள் வைத்தால் நிகழ்ச்சியில் பங்கேற்க மாட்டேன் என முதல்வர் ஸ்டாலின் ஏற்கனவே கூறியுள்ளார்.
