கோயில் வளாகத்தில் புகுந்த ஒற்றை காட்டு யானை-A lone wild elephant entering the temple premises

நள்ளிரவில் பண்ணாரி அம்மன் கோயில் வளாகத்திற்குள் புகுந்த காட்டு யானை, தள்ளுவண்டி கடை மற்றும் இருசக்கர வாகனத்தை சேதப்படுத்தியதால் பரபரப்பு ஏற்பட்டது.

சத்தியமங்கலம் புலிகள் காப்பகம் பண்ணாரி அம்மன் கோவில் வனப்பகுதியில் ஏராளமான காட்டு யானைகள் வசிக்கின்றன. இந்த காட்டு யானைகள் அவ்வப்போது வனப்பகுதியை விட்டு வெளியேறி தமிழகம் கர்நாடக மாநிலத்தை இணைக்கும் சத்தியமங்கலம் மைசூர் தேசிய நெடுஞ்சாலையில் நடமாடுவது வழக்கம்.

இந்நிலையில் நேற்று நள்ளிரவு வனப்பகுதியை விட்டு வெளியேறிய ஒற்றை காட்டு யானை பண்ணாரி அம்மன் கோயில் வளாகத்திற்குள் புகுந்து சுற்றி திரிவதைக் கண்ட அப்பகுதி மக்கள் உடனடியாக வனத் துறையினருக்கு தகவல் தெரிவித்தனர். சம்பவ இடத்திற்கு வந்த வனத் துறையினர் ஒற்றை காட்டு யானையை வனப்பகுதிக்குள் விரட்ட முயற்சித்தனர்.

அப்போது கோயில் வளாகத்தில் இருந்த தள்ளுவண்டி கடையை சேதப்படுத்திய காட்டு யானை அங்கிருந்த இருசக்கர வாகனத்தை கீழே போட்டு மிதித்து சேதப்படுத்தியது. வனத்துறையினர் பட்டாசுகளை வெடித்து அரைமணி நேர போராட்டத்திற்கு பின் காட்டு யானையை வனப்பகுதிக்குள் விரட்டியடித்தனர். இதனால் அங்கு பரபரப்பு ஏற்பட்டது.
