திமுக ஆட்சிக் காலத்தில் மாநகராட்சி கட்டடங்களில் வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த திருக்குறள் விளக்க உரை பலகைகளை, அதற்குப் பின்னர் வந்த ஆட்சியாளர்கள் அகற்றியதாக, மக்கள் நல்வாழ்வுத்துறை அமைச்சர் மா. சுப்பிரமணியன் கூறியுள்ளார்.
சென்னை கலைவாணர் அரங்கத்தில், தமிழ் வளர்ச்சித் துறை அமைச்சர் தங்கம் தென்னரசு தலைமையில் நடைபெற்ற புத்தக வெளியீட்டு விழா ஒன்றில் கலந்துகொண்ட மா.சுப்பிரமணியன், மேடையில் பேசியபோது இதனைத் தெரிவித்தார். தான் மேயராக இருந்தபோது, "வாயில் தோறும் வள்ளுவம்" என்ற திட்டத்தை மூலம், மாநகராட்சி பூங்காக்கள், அலுவலகங்களில், முன்னாள் முதலமைச்சர் கருணாநிதியின் திருக்குறள் விளக்க உரைகள் எழுதி வைத்ததை நினைவு கூர்ந்தார். ஆட்சி மாற்றத்திற்குப் பிறகு வந்தவர்கள், வாயில் தோறும் வள்ளுவம் திட்டத்தை செயல்படுத்தவில்லை என்றும், ஏற்கெனவே வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த திருக்குறள் விளக்கவுரை பலகைகளை அகற்றியதாகவும் குற்றஞ்சாட்டினார்.
