ஈரோட்டில் கடந்த சில தினங்களாக மழை பெய்து வருகிறது. இந்நிலையில் நேற்று மதியம் முதலே தொடர்ந்து இடியுடன் மழை பெய்ததால் மக்களின் இயல்பு வாழ்க்கை பெரிதும் பாதிக்கப்பட்டது. தொடர் மழை காரணமாக தாழ்வான பகுதியில் மழைநீர் புகுந்தது.

இதற்கிடையே நேதாஜி வீதியில் மூதாட்டி ராஜம்மாள் மற்றும் அவரது மகன் ராமசாமி ஆகியோர் வீட்டில் தூங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தனர். அப்போது மண்சுவர் இடிந்து விழுந்தது. அதில், ராஜம்மாள், ராமசாமி ஆகியோர் சிக்கிக்கொண்டனர். அவர்களின் அலறல் சப்தம் கேட்டு பக்கத்து வீட்டுகாரர்கள் தீயணைப்பு நிலையத்துக்கு தகவல் தெரிவித்தனர்.

தகவல் அறிந்து அங்கு வந்த வீரர்கள் இடிபாடுகளிடையே சிக்கிய ராமசாமியை மீட்டனர். ஆனால், மூதாட்டியின் உடல் இறந்த நிலையில் மீட்கப்பட்டது. இதையடுத்து காயமடைந்த ராமசாமியை அரசு மருத்துவமனையில் சிகிச்சை பெற்று வருகிறார்.

An old woman dies when a wall collapses due to heavy rain in Erode. The son has been admitted to the government hospital with injuries.

It has been raining in Erode for the last few days. The normal life of the people was severely affected due to the continuous thunder showers since yesterday afternoon. Due to the continuous rain, rainwater infiltrated in the lower part.

Meanwhile, grandmother Rajamal and her son Ramasamy were sleeping at home on Netaji Road. Then the earthen wall collapsed. In it, Rajammal and Ramasamy were trapped. Neighbors heard their screams and informed the fire station.

Upon receiving the information, the soldiers rescued Ramasamy who was trapped in the rubble. However, the body of the grandmother was recovered dead. Ramasamy is receiving treatment at the government hospital.
