குடிசைகளைப் பிரித்தெறிந்த அதிகாரிகள்-Officers dismantled the huts

திருவண்ணாமலை மாவட்டம் வந்தவாசி அருகே இருளர் இன மக்கள் வசித்து வந்த குடிசைகளை வருவாய் மற்றும் காவல்துறையினர் பிரிந்து எறிந்து அகற்றியதால், அவர்கள் பிள்ளைகளுடன் தவித்து வருகின்றனர்.

பெரணமல்லூர் முருகன் கோயில் அருகே இருளர் இனத்தைச் சேர்ந்த 11 குடும்பத்தினர் கடந்த 4 மாதங்களாக குடிசை போட்டி வசித்து வந்தனர். நேற்று அங்கு சென்ற வந்தவாசி வருவாய்த் துறையினரும் பெரணமல்லூர் காவல் துறையினரும் இருளர் இன மக்களின் குடிசைகளைப் பிரித்தெறிந்து அகற்றினர். அதிகாரிகள் எவ்வித முன் அறிவிப்பும் இன்றி குடிசைகளை அகற்றிவிட்டதாகக் குற்றம்சாட்டிய அவர்கள், குடிசைகள் பிரித்தெறியப்பட்டதால் குழந்தைகளுடன் வெட்டவெளியில் தவிப்பதாக கண்ணீருடன் முறையிட்டனர்.

தங்களுக்கு வீடு கட்டித் தருமாறு வலியுறுத்தி, அங்கேயே அமர்ந்து போராட்டத்தில் ஈடுபட்டனர். அவர்களை வந்தவாசி வட்டாட்சியர் உள்ளிட்ட அதிகாரிகள் சமாதானப் படுத்தினர். வேறோரு இடத்தில் வீடு கட்ட, இன்று பட்டா வழங்குவதாக உறுதியளித்ததைத் தொடர்ந்து, 5 மணி நேரம் நீடித்த போராட்டம் கைவிடப்பட்டது.

Revenue and police have torn down huts inhabited by dark ethnic people near Vandavasi in Thiruvannamalai district and they are suffering with children.

Eleven families belonging to the Irular community have been living in huts near the Peranamallur Murugan Temple for the past 4 months. The Vandavasi Revenue Department and the Peranamallur Police who went there yesterday dismantled and removed the huts of the dark ethnic people.

They accused the authorities of removing the huts without any prior notice and complained in tears that they were suffering in the slums with the children as the huts were dismantled.

They insisted on building a house for themselves and sat there fighting. They were appeased by the authorities, including the Governor of Vandavasi. The 5-hour-long struggle was abandoned following a promise today to give Patta a chance to build a house elsewhere.
