நீலகிரி: போக்கு காட்டும் புலி - மேலும் ஒருவர் பலி-Nilgiris: Tiger showing trend - one more killed

நீலகிரி மாவட்டம் கூடலூரில் 3 பேரை புலி கொன்ற நிலையில், மசினக்குடியில் மாடு மேய்த்த நபர் ஒருவரையும் புலி தாக்கியதில் அவர் உயிரிழந்தார்.

T23 என பெயரிடப்பட்டுள்ள அந்த புலி, 3 மனிதர்களையும், 30க்கும் அதிகமான கால்நடைகளையும் கொன்றுள்ளதாக அந்த பகுதி மக்கள் கூறுகின்றனர். தொடர்ந்து அச்சுறுத்தி வரும் புலியை சென்னை அருகேயுள்ள வண்டலூர் உயிரியல் பூங்காவில் பராமரிக்க அனுமதி கிடைத்துள்ளதை அடுத்து, கடந்த 25ஆம் தேதி முதல் அதனை பிடிக்கும் பணி முடுக்கி விடப்பட்டது.

முதுமலை புலிகள் காப்பக கள இயக்குநர் வெங்கடேஷ் தலைமையில், தமிழ்நாடு மற்றும் வயநாட்டை சேர்ந்த 100க்கும் அதிகமான வனத்துறையினர் புலியை பிடிக்கும் பணியில் ஈடுபட்டு வருகின்றனர். முகம் மற்றும் உடலின் பிற பகுதிகளில் காயங்களோடு இருக்கும் புலி, சோர்வாக தேவன் எஸ்டேட்டில் இருந்து மசினக்குடிக்கு செல்லத் தொடங்கியுள்ளது. அங்கு எப்படியேனும் புலியை உயிருடன் பிடித்து விட வேண்டும் என வனத்துறையினர் முயற்சித்து வருகின்றனர். இதனிடையே மசினக்குடியில் மாடு மேய்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்த நபர் ஒருவரையும் தாக்கி கொன்றுவிட்டு புலி அங்கிருந்து சென்றுவிட்டது. இதனால் பொதுமக்கள் அச்சத்தில் உள்ளனர்.
