திருப்பத்தூர் மாவட்டத்தில் மலைக்கிராம மக்களின் எதிர்ப்பை மீறி வேட்புமனு தாக்கல் செய்த பட்டியலின வகுப்பைச் சேர்ந்த பெண், போட்டியின்றி ஊராட்சிமன்றத் தலைவராவது உறுதியாகியுள்ளது. மற்றொரு பெண்ணின் மனு நிராகரிக்கப்பட்டது.
திருப்பத்தூர் மாவட்டம் ஆம்பூர் அருகேயுள்ள மாதனூர் ஒன்றியத்திற்கு உட்பட்டது மலைக்கிராமமான நாயக்கனேரி ஊராட்சி. 9 வார்டுகள் கொண்ட இந்த ஊராட்சியின் தலைவர் பதவி, பட்டியலினத்தை சேர்ந்த பெண்ணுக்கு ஒதுக்கப்பட்டது. இந்நிலையில் மாற்று சமுதாயத்தினருக்கு ஒதுக்கக்கோரி மலைக்கிராம மக்கள் போராடினர். மலைக்கிராமத்தினரின் எதிர்ப்புக்கு மத்தியில், பட்டியலினத்தை சேர்ந்த பியூலா , இந்துமதி ஆகிய இருவர் வேட்புமனு தாக்கல் செய்தனர்.
இதில் முறையாக ஆவணங்கள் இல்லை எனக் கூறி, பரிசீலனையின்போது பியூலாவின் மனு நேற்று நிராகரிக்கப்பட்டது. இதனால் இந்துமதி போட்டியின்றி நாயக்கனேரி ஊராட்சி மன்றத் தலைவராகத் தேர்வாவது உறுதியாகியுள்ளது. வேட்புமனு தாக்கல் முடிவடைய சிறிது நேரமே இருந்தபோது இந்துமதி ஓடிச் சென்று மனுதாக்கல் செய்திருந்தார்.
A woman belonging to the list class who filed her nomination against the protests of the hill villagers in Tirupati district has been confirmed as the Panchayat President without contest. Another woman's petition was rejected.
Tirupati district is a hill station of Nayakkaneri panchayat which belongs to Madhanur union near Ambur. The presidency of this panchayat, which has 9 wards, is reserved for the woman on the list. In this situation, the hill villagers fought to set aside the alternative community. Piula and Indumati, both from the list, filed their nominations amid protests from hill villagers.
Pula's petition was rejected yesterday during the review, citing lack of proper documentation. Thus, it has been decided to elect Indumati as the Chairman of Nayakkaneri Panchayat without any contest. Indumati had run away and filed the petition shortly after the filing of the nomination.
