இந்நிலையில் மாநிலங்களவை உறுப்பினர்களாக திமுகவின் கனிமொழி சோமு, ராஜேஷ்குமார் ஆகிய இருவரும் போட்டியின்றி தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளனர். இருவரின் வேட்பு மனுக்கள் ஏற்கப்பட்ட நிலையில் போட்டியின்றி தேர்வானதாக தேர்தல் அதிகாரி அறிவித்துள்ளார். கனிமொழி சோமு, ராஜேஷ்குமார் தேர்வானதன் மூலம் மாநிலங்களவையில் திமுக உறுப்பினர்களின் எண்ணிக்கை பத்தாக உயர்ந்துள்ளது.

Candidature for the election began on Sept. 15. Kanimozhi Somu and KRN Rajeskumar filed their nomination papers with K. Srinivasan, Secretary to the Legislative Assembly and Returning Officer, at the General Secretariat on the 21st.
In this situation, Kanimozhi Somu and Rajesh Kumar of DMK have been elected as members of the state assembly without contest. The Returning Officer has declared that the nominations of the two have been accepted and they have been selected without contest. With the election of Kanimozhi Somu and Rajesh Kumar, the number of DMK members in the state assembly has increased to ten.
