தமிழகத்தில் ஐந்து நாட்களுக்கு கனமழை பெய்ய வாய்ப்புள்ளதாக சென்னை வானிலை ஆய்வு மையம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
சேலம், தருமபுரி, நாமக்கல் உள்ளிட்ட மாவட்டங்களில் கனமழை பெய்யக்கூடும் என கணிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. புதுவை, காரைக்கால் பகுதிகளில் ஒரு சில இடங்களில் லேசானது முதல் மிதமான மழை பெய்யக்கூடும் என வானிலை ஆய்வு மையம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது. சென்னையை பொருத்தவரை வானம் மேகமூட்டத்துடன் காணப்படும் எனவும், ஒரு சில பகுதிகளில் மிதமான மழை பெய்யக்கூடும் எனவும் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
தமிழகத்தில் அதிகபட்சமாக நீலகிரி மாவட்டம் பந்தலூரில் 5 சென்டி மீட்டர் மழை பதிவாகியுள்ளது. தென்மேற்கு வங்கக் கடல் மற்றும் தெற்கு அந்தமான் கடல் பகுதிகளில் பலத்த காற்று வீசக்கூடும் என்பதால், மீனவர்கள் இப்பகுதிகளுக்குச் செல்ல வேண்டாம் என அறிவுறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.

The Chennai Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains for five days in Tamil Nadu.
Heavy rains are forecast in Salem, Dharmapuri and Namakkal districts. The Met Office has forecast light to moderate rains in a few places in New Delhi and Karaikal. The weather in Chennai will be cloudy with a chance of showers in a few places.
Pandharpur in the Nilgiris district recorded the highest rainfall of 5 cm in Tamil Nadu. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the southwestern Bay of Bengal and the southern Andaman Sea as strong winds are expected.
