மதுரையில் சாலையில் சுற்றித் திரிந்த 85 மாடுகளை பிடித்து மாநகராட்சி, அவற்றின் உரிமையாளர்களுக்கு மொத்தம் ஒரு லட்ச ரூபாய் அபராதம் விதித்திருக்கிறது.
நகரப் பகுதிகளில், சாலையில் சுற்றித் திரியும் மாடுகள் போக்குவரத்துக்கு இடையூறாக உள்ளதால், அவற்றின் உரிமையாளர்களுக்கு எச்சரிக்கை விடுக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது. சாலையில் சுற்றும் மாடுகளைப் பிடிப்பதற்காக குழு அமைக்கப்பட்ட நிலையில், கடந்த பத்து நாட்களில் மட்டும் 85 மாடுகள் பிடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக மாநகராட்சி நிர்வாகம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது. அதன் உரிமையாளர்களுக்கு மொத்தம் ஒரு லட்சத்து 20ஆயிரம் ரூபாய் அபராதம் விதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. மாடுகளை அழைத்துச் செல்லாவிடில், ஏலம் விடப்படும் எனத் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
