கூடலூரில் ஆட்கொல்லி புலியை பிடிக்க 5-வது நாளாக மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்ட முயற்சியும் தோல்வியில் முடிந்தது.
நீலகிரி மாவட்டம் கூடலூரில் 3 பேரைக் கொன்ற புலி, மேல்பீல்டு பகுதியில் உள்ள தேயிலை தோட்டத்தை ஒட்டிய புதரில் பதுங்கியிருந்ததை வனத்துறையினர் கண்டறிந்தனர். மேல்பீல்டு பகுதியிலிருந்து மீண்டும் தேவன் எஸ்டேட் பகுதியை நோக்கி நகர்ந்த புலியை பின் தொடர்ந்த வனத்துறையினர் பல்வேறு இடங்களில் அதற்கு மயக்க ஊசி செலுத்த முயற்சித்தனர். ஆனால் புலி மீண்டும் அடர்ந்த புதர் பகுதியில் சென்று பதுங்கிக் கொண்டது.
இதனால் ஐந்தாவது நாளாக புலியை பிடிக்க மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்ட முயற்சிகள் தோல்வியில் முடிந்தன. புலி அடிக்கடி தனது இருப்பிடத்தை மாற்றி வருவதால் கடும் சவாலாக இருப்பதாக முதுமலை புலிகள் காப்பக கள இயக்குனர் வெங்கடேஷ் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

Forest officials have found a tiger that killed three people in Cuddalore in the Nilgiris district, hiding in a bush near a tea plantation in the Upperfield area. Foresters chased the tiger as it moved back from the upperfield to the Devan Estate area and tried to inject it with anesthetic at various places. But the tiger went back to the dense bush and hid.
