திருமணமாகி 28 நாட்களே ஆன இளம்பெண் தூக்கிட்டு தற்கொலை செய்து கொண்ட சம்பவம் சோகத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது.
சென்னை அரும்பாக்கம் எம்எம்டிஏ காலனியைச் சேர்ந்த விஸ்வநாதன் என்பவருக்கும் திவ்ய பாரதி (23) என்பவருக்கும் இந்த மாதம் 1-ம் தேதி பெற்றோர்களால் நிச்சயிக்கப்பட்டு திருமணம் நடந்துள்ளது. இந்நிலையில் நேற்று இரவு வீட்டின் முதல் தளத்திற்குச் சென்ற திவ்ய பாரதி நீண்ட நேரமாக கீழே வரவில்லை. இதனால் சந்தேகமடைந்த உறவினர்கள் முதல் தளத்திற்குச் சென்று கதவை தட்டி பார்த்தும் திறக்காததால் அரும்பாக்கம் போலீசாருக்கு தகவல் கொடுத்துள்ளனர்.
இதையடுத்து அங்கு வந்த போலீசார், கதவை உடைத்து பார்த்தபோது புடவையால் தூக்கிட்டு இறந்த நிலையில் இருந்துள்ளார். திவ்ய பாரதியின் உடலை கைப்பற்றிய போலீசார், பிரேத பரிசோதனைக்காக கீழ்ப்பாக்கம் அரசு மருத்துவமனைக்கு அனுப்பி வைத்தனர்.
பின்னர் போலீசார் நடத்திய விசாரணையில் விஸ்வநாதனுக்கு 33 வயது என்பதால் 23 வயதான திவ்ய பாரதிக்கு திருமணத்தில் விருப்பமில்லை என குடும்பத்தினரிடம் தெரிவித்ததாக தெரிகிறது. ஆனால், இருவருக்கும் திருமணம் நடந்த நிலையில், விஸ்வநாதனுடன் சேர்ந்து வாழாமல் அவர் சண்டையிட்டு வந்ததாக கூறப்படுகிறது.
இதையடுத்து விஸ்வநாதன் விவாகரத்து கேட்டு அவருக்கு நோட்டீஸ் கொடுத்ததால் பிரச்னை ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. இதனால் திவ்ய பாரதி தற்கொலை செய்து கொண்டதாக காவல் துறையினர் தெரிவித்தனர்.

The incident where a 28-day-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself has caused a great deal of grief.
Viswanathan and Divya Bharathi (23) from MMDA Colony, Arumbakkam, Chennai were engaged to be married on the 1st of this month. In this situation Divya Bharathi who went to the first floor of the house last night did not come down for a long time. The relatives of the suspect went to the first floor and knocked on the door and informed the Arumbakkam police as it did not open.
He was later found dead by a sari when police broke down the door. Police seized Divya Bharathi's body and sent it to the Kilpauk Government Hospital for autopsy.
Later, the police found out that Viswanathan had told his family that he did not want to marry 23-year-old Divya Bharathi as he was 33 years old. But, as the two were married, he is said to have been fighting without living with Viswanathan.
Following this, Viswanathan filed for divorce and gave him a notice. According to the police, Divya Bharathi committed suicide.
